The American Companies ESOP Trust has acquired an ownership stake in The American Group of Companies, which includes American Door & Millwork, American Window, and American Installation. This Central Florida-based business employees more than 250 employees in Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville, and services the residential homebuilding industry with doors, windows, and millwork. PCE Investment Bankers, based in Winter Park, Florida, acted as the exclusive financial advisor to The American Group of Companies, and structured, negotiated and arranged financing for the sale transaction. The price of the acquisition was not disclosed.
According to the American Companies’ founder and President Chad Barton, “I’ve always intended for my employees to own my company. Together we all built this company from nothing to what it is today. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, and pleased to be able to pass on to them the opportunity of ownership.” Chad Barton maintains a significant ownership position and continues to be actively involved in the management of the company.

American Door & Millwork was founded in 1995 by Mr. Chad Barton and Mr. Bob Dello Russo in direct response to builder demand for a reliable and scalable door supplier. American Installation was subsequently formed to perform all installation work for the door company.
In 2002, Mr. Barton and Mr. Dello Russo created American Window to bring the same caliber of service to the window distribution and installation business. This Company provides sales, installation and service of windows, sliding glass doors and mitred glass to residential and commercial builders.
The Companies operate out of a 95,000 square foot office and manufacturing complex in Sanford, a 65,000 square foot facility in Tampa and a 50,000 square foot facility in Jacksonville.
